Lucanis could hardly complain about their living conditions. He had plenty of room to work in the kitchen, and after a few trips to the market for missing supplies (the lighthouse hadn't come with more than one pot? Rude), he had enough to make a decent meal every night for the portion of the Veilguard that had ended up joining them.
After dinner, he and Rook cleaned up and were currently sitting with their post meal coffee and a small plate of hazelnut and dark chocolate covered biscuits. Lucanis set his cup down and leaned back.
"Thank you for helping me, Rook." He smiled. "I was thinking, if you're not needed elsewhere, you might join me down in the bath. I haven't had the chance to properly test the waters, as it were."

Rook, who had definitely told herself two cookies ago that she was full and this was her last one, polished off the final bite of what was actually her last one and savored the swallow of her coffee along with it. Raised her eyebrows over the cup and hummed in surprise as she drank; funny, she was gonna ask him the same thing. "I'd love to," she replied when mouth was free. "That is, if you relax for a moment and let me run it for us." Without giving him time to protest, she picked up both of their empty coffee mugs and rose, bent down to kiss his cheek. "I mean it. It's the least I can do."
She knew him well. Lucanis was absolutely going to protest, and was even moving to stand when she beat him to the punch; his ass firmly planted back into the chair as she kissed him.
"Mm. I have a feeling arguing against you would get me nowhere." He teased. "I purchased some soaps from the market — subtle, earthy fragrances I thought you might enjoy. I'll go and get them while you ready the bath."

Rook started to insist she'd get them, because honestly, was this man just incapable of relaxing for five minutes, but she supposed compromise was an important part of any relationship. "Sounds exactly like something I'd enjoy, ma vhenan," she replied, smiling as she gave the coffee mugs a quick wash and set them with the rest of the drying dishes. "You're sweet to think of me." As he always was, it seemed, which was a feeling she wasn't used to at all. She dried her hands, leaned down to kiss the top of his head as she passed him on her way out of the kitchen. "Give me ten minutes or so then meet me down there? Should all be ready by then."
If it's more sex related stuff I definitely don't want to know.
